Our Purpose
Elevate Dog Treats is a family owned, Colorado based small batch dog treat company built around one simple belief: What we give our dogs should be made with the same care and intention we bring to the lives we share with them.
Elevate began with something deeply personal; after 25 years in occupational therapy, founder Melissa stepped away from her career to care for her daughter, Makayla, who has additional support needs. In that transition, she found herself looking for a new way to put her experience, creativity and lifelong commitment to helping others into something meaningful. Originally from Upstate New York, Melissa spent a period of her life in Lynchburg, Virginia, before eventually beginning a new chapter with her family in Colorado. Through the changes and transitions that came with building a family and creating a life that best supported their needs, they became increasingly aware of a gap for individuals on the autism spectrum who also experience vision related challenges. That realization became a core building block of Elevate and helped realize an intersection of purpose, experience, family and a desire to help.
Today, Elevate Dog Treats is truly a family run operation. Makayla is an active part of the business, contributing to product development, helping with the cooking process and taking part in day-to-day operations. Her involvement isn't simply "part" of our story; it is part of how we believe a business should be built: by recognizing ability, creating meaningful opportunities to contribute and making room for everyone to have a place at the table.
And of course; we make delicious dog treats.
Our treats are handcrafted in small batches using real, recognizable ingredients and NO shortcuts. We carefully consider what goes into every recipe because the dogs enjoying these treats aren't just customers to us; they're family. Every batch is made with an emphasis on quality, freshness and care from our kitchen to your dogs bowl.
Elevate was never meant to be just about treats. Our long-term vision is to create meaningful inclusive employment opportunities for individuals with vision related challenges and to grow a nonprofit initiative that supports access to guide dogs and other resources for individuals on the autism spectrum. Every purchase helps us move a little closer to creating something bigger.
